התואר מקנה הבנה ומבט רחב על טכנולוגיות אנרגיות בנות קיימא, השפעתן והתאמתן לסביבה. למידה של הכלים הדרושים לפיתוח טכנולוגיות אלו והבנת התחום מנקודת ראיה של דיסציפלינות שונות כגון רגולציה ומדעי כדור- הארץ. מטרת המגמה היא לחשוף את תלמיד המחקר לאספקטים שונים של נושא הקיימות כדי ששיקולים של קיימות יקרינו על עבודת המחקר- תכנון המחקר, שאלת המחקר, ושיטות המחקר.

The chemistry department is central in the development of technologies for production, storage, and use of sustainable energies.

This degree provides an understanding and a broad overview of sustainable energy technologies, their impact, and environmental suitability. The courses focus on learning the tools needed to develop these technologies and understanding the field from the point of view of different disciplines, such as regulation and earth sciences. The purpose of the major is to expose the research students to various aspects of sustainability, so that they consider sustainability and how reflects on their research, by planning, asking the correct questions, and using clean methods.
